Statement of Ethics

NZAPT members are committed to the ethical and professional use of psychological type theory to honour the dignity and individuality of people, adhering to the following principles:

  • Information about a person’s type is to be used for the maximum benefit to the individual
  • Interpretation and feedback of type results emphasise the appreciation and constructive use of individual differences
  • Practitioners of psychological type work within the limits of their own type knowledge and type competence.

Practitioners of psychological type accept specific professional and legal responsibilities, including undertaking to provide confidentiality of type results, a clear explanation to the individual of how their results will be used and to provide face to face feedback to the individual.
